Commit of the week: DE Justus Reed

Reed traveled about a half hour away from his future stomping grounds Friday.

Ocala Trinity Catholic played host to his Clearwater Central Catholic team, and it left with a 38-14 victory. It was CCC’s third consecutive win and brought its record to 4-1.

Reed registered eight tackles, one sack and two quarterback hurries in the game. On the year, he now has 31 tackles, a team-high five sacks and 10 hurries.

Here are some other UF pledges who performed well last week:

QB Will Grier, Davidson (N.C.) Day: His team defeated Waxhaw Marvin Ridge 45-0, and the Army All-American completed 44-of-56 passes for 407 yards and a season-high seven touchdowns. He also ran for 130 yards on 10 carries. Grier will visit UF this weekend for the Arkansas game.

CB J.C. Jackson, Immokalee: Jackson put up 298 all-purpose yards in a 35-14 win over Naples Golf Coast. Most of his production came in the passing game, as he hauled in five receptions for 219 yards and three touchdowns.

CB Quincy Wilson, Fort Lauderdale University School: Wilson made his third interception of the season to help the Suns shutout Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson, 50-0.

  1. Nice to see our boys produce on a consistent basis. Be interesting to see which players makes commit of the week on a regular basis. Likely hood of them being early enrolled and freshmen contributors will be a nice little stat to keep track of for the future.
