Fort Lauderdale Plantation cornerback Chris Lammons visited Florida over the weekend for its season-opening win over Toledo.

It was his first trip to UF since he committed to the Gators on Aug. 12.

“That’s the first game I’ve been to in The Swamp,” he said. “The atmosphere was nice. I like how they get pumped up. I loved it.”

The 5-foot-10, 171-pounder paid close attention to the Florida corners and liked what he saw.

“I was watching them the whole time,” he said. “I like how they came out and didn’t let the Toledo receivers make a lot of catches on them. Big play from Vernon Hargreaves on the turnover, and Marcus Roberson locked it down.”

Lammons stayed in Gainesville through Sunday and enjoyed spending time his future teammates and coaches.

“They made me feel comfortable, like I’m already family,” he said. “It’s not too far from home, and I can come in right away and play. So it’s just a perfect fit.”

The ESPN150 member had previously stated he would still take official visits despite his UF pledge, but that’s no longer the case.

“I think I’m just going to take one to Florida and that’s it,” Lammons said.
