New & Notes
* The following prospects received offers from Florida this week: Cornerback Davonte Nunnery (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure) and 2016 receiver Keith Gavin (Crawfordville, Fla./Wakulla).
* On Friday, Prichard (Ala.) Vigor defensive end Justin Thornton committed to Auburn over LSU and Texas A&M. He once had UF leading, but his academic concerns caused the coaches to stop recruiting him. … Jacksonville Trinity Christian receiver Isaiah Ford committed to Louisville on Saturday. He’s from same school as Florida safety signee Nick Washington and had an offer from the Gators. … Brooklyn (N.Y.) Erasmus Hall athlete Curtis Samuel, who was offered last month, named a Top 5 on Tuesday and it didn’t include UF.
Keep it a comin homie. ya boy…
How far away was Justin in terms of academics. I mean its still so early in the game, why back off now? The kid called UF his dream school. Was it not possible for him to qualify at all?
“Academic concerns” never stop Auburn.
Still some uncolored coloring books from the Auburn library fire.
Umm rumor is Thornton has a 1.1 GPA……..so I would say very far off
Surprised we lost Isaiah Ford so quickly, but that’s life. Good luck to him.
If the 1.1 GPA is correct, he wont even get in Auburn. If he can get into any JUCO he may be able to transfer out in a couple years. I hope more kids are waking up to the fact that the words”STUDENT – athlete”, the word STUDENT is first for a reason. Wake up kids, the world is changing slow but not that slow. GO GATORS!!!!
[…] The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder currently has Ohio State as his leader and plans to announce a Top 7 in July, which is expected to include the Gators. He has visited UF twice — most recently in Febuary — and was evaluated by the Florida coaches earlier this month. […]
