New & Notes

* The following prospects received offers from Florida this week: offensive lineman Dontae Angus (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown), defensive end Cory Thomas (McCalla, Ala./McAdory), linebacker Kevin Mouhon (Norcross, Ga./Norcross), 2015 running back Jerome Baker (Cleveland, Ohio/Benedictine), 2015 tight end Jordan Davis (Houston, Texas/Clear Lake) and 2015 defensive end D’Andre Walker (Fairburn, Ga./Langston Hughes).

* Running back Sony Michel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./American Heritage) committed to Georgia over Miami on Friday. The five-star prospect had UF in his Top 5 and attended the Orange & Blue Debut, but the Gators were never a serious contender for him.

* Two of Florida’s top 2015 targets — Tarpon Spring East Lake wide receiver George Campbell and Glen Saint Mary Baker County defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson — were invited to the Army All-American Bowl.

* Tallahassee Godby linebacker Jacob Pugh spent the weekend in Gainesville, marking his trip to see the Gators this month. Bradenton IMG Academy offensive tackle Denzel Ward plans to visit UF this coming Wednesday.
