New & Notes

* Two of the targets Florida saw this week are no longer on the board. Gaillard, who named UF his leader two weeks ago, eliminated the Gators on Friday because they wouldn’t offer his teammate, defensive end Harold Landry. Brumfield committed to LSU over Alabama and Florida on Saturday night.

* The following prospects received offers from Florida this week: Running backs Gerald Owens (Imperial, Calif./Imperial) and Samuel, tight end DeAndre Goolsby (Derby, Kan./Derby), offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn (St. Petersburg, Fla./Lakewood), defensive end Deondre Clark (Oklahoma City, Okla./Douglass), 2015 offensive linemen Rasheem Green (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra) and Drew Richmond (Memphis, Tenn./University School), 2015 defensive tackle Shy Tuttle (Lexington (N.C./North Davidson) and 2016 linebacker John Houston (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra).

* An offer deserving of its own note is the one that went out Monday to 2017 athlete Dylan Moses (Baton Rouge, La./University Laboratory). This is the kid who caused a stir back in July when the LSU Tigers offered him a scholarship prior to his 8th grade year. Alabama followed suit in Febuary. This week, the 6-foot-2, 223-pounder picked up offers from Florida, Florida State, Nebraska, Ole Miss and UCLA.

  1. Dylan Moses, only an 8th grader, wow! Good coaches can obviously recognize athletes. Another Class of 2017 to keep an eye on is Clayton Coringrato, 6′ 2″ 176lbs, 4.57 40. He is slated to attend Vernon Hargraves’ alma matter, Wharton. His older brother, Tyler, is a Sophmore there with exceptional hands. The only issue regarding Clayton is that he is considered one of the Top Prospects in the Country in Baseball. I know the family and Clayton was the only 8th Grader Invited to this Summers’ Perfect Game Combine (Similar to Nike/UA Invite only Combines). I’ve seen him play and would like to see him play both sports, he’s a heck of a T.E.
