Florida hosted 10 commits for its annual football banquet over the weekend, including nine official visitors.

The future Gators also watched the team practice in The Swamp and spent quality time with the UF coaches and players.

Here’s what they all had to say about their latest trip to Gainesville:

RB Kelvin Taylor (Belle Glade Glades Day): “I got to know everybody better, hung out with the coaches and bonded with the older players on the football team. It was a great weekend.”

WR Ahmad Fulwood (Jacksonville Bishop Kenny): “It was exciting. We had fun and I enjoyed my experience. My highlight was the banquet. That’s pretty much what we all took our official for and it was nice. Everything was top of the line.”

DT Caleb Brantley (Crescent City): “My favorite part of the trip was hanging out with the coaches and getting some one-on-one time with them. The commits were like family. Some of the players told us they didn’t know each other (as incoming recruits) as well as we know each other. They said we were like family and we’re not even there yet.”

DL Joey Ivie (Dade City Pasco): “Everybody on their official was a commit, so it was pretty nice getting to know everybody over these past couple days. The coaches talked about how our class could change a lot of things and they just can’t wait for all of us to be there.”

DE Jordan Sherit (Tampa Hillsborough): “The official visit was just a reminder of how much I love Florida and my fellow commits.”

LB Daniel McMillian (Jacksonville First Coast): “The food was the best part for me. Eating at coach Muschamp’s house was my favorite thing that I did. I’ve never ate so good in my life. It was also good to meet with my academic advisors. I got everything situated so I’ll be ready to come up there in a couple weeks.”

LB Quinton Powell (Daytona Beach Mainland): “I had a great trip. It was the first time I actually stayed in Gainesville for more than a day, and it was an awesome experience. I loved everything — going to coach Muschamp’s house, seeing the environment, interacting with the players on a personal level and of course being around the commits.”

CB Vernon Hargreaves III (Tampa Wharton): “I can’t wait to pump up the crowd at the Swamp !!!! … best place on Earth.”

S Marcell Harris (Orlando Dr. Phillips): “I’m glad I got to share that experience with those guys at the banquet. January can’t come soon enough.”

S Nick Washington (Jacksonville Trinity Christian): “It was really good coming down and chilling with all the boys. I felt like we were already close, but this weekend brought us closer because we hung out for three days straight. Going to the football banquet with them was something special.”

  1. My list of important key roll to take the last spot in order goes like this; FB, DE, RB, CB, WR. Whomever commits first is fine with me. FB is most important spot to fill next to me. There was a noticeable drop off when Hunter went down. What say you Zach?

  2. My favorite part about this class is how close they are. It seems very authentic. To be this close so early in the process will pay huge dividends in the years to come. I think our success this year was in large part due to how each player had each other’s back. This class seems like they really do have each other’s backs and are very mature. Wow, very encouraged!

  3. Zach, things are heating up with breaking news left and right; thanks for staying busy and keeping us all informed. I saw the pic of the commits earlier and was wondering if the OV had reeled Q. Powell back in… Oh well, with J. Powell on deck (having very similar athleticism, but now bigger and stronger after red-shirting) and the addition of M. Rolin, we’ve without question improved our class. Wishing Q. the best – he recruited very hard for us not very long ago.
