Florida coaches evaluate Sunshine State

After traveling strictly out-of-state for the first quarter of the Evaluation Period, Florida’s staff spent the last two weeks predominantly in the Sunshine State.
Since the beginning of May, Will Muschamp’s assistant coaches have evaluated 34-known prospects from the 2013 class — and 29 are from the state of Florida. With spring football practices starting this month, they couldn’t have asked for a better time to check out their commitments and targets.

Below is a map of the in-state recruiting responsibilities for the UF staff, which was created by InsideTheGators.com (Florida’s website on the Rivals network).

Here are the prospects UF has seen since our last look at the Evaluation Period.

  1. Zack, great reporting! I am impressed with the coaching staff’s early engagement with these underclassmen. UF always needs to own the state of Florida first and foremost. I was surprised coach Robinson has both Orlando and Miami as his recruiting territory. That is a tall order. Like never before, UF has a distinct advantage over UM (stadium, fans, league, revenue, academics, facilities, etc.) Go Gators!

  2. Great work as usual Zach. Keep the info coming. Does anyone know if Leon McQuay plays offense RB or receiver. Would he be the son of the great X-Ray McQuay that played with U of Tampa late 60’s/early 70’s, I think? What a great back he was!
