Ahmad Fulwood got an eyeful last week at The Swamp.

The junior from Jacksonville, Fla., Bishop Kenny took an unofficial visit to see Florida play host to Florida Atlantic.

“First college night game ever,” he said, “and it was impressive.”

The 6-foot-4, 197-pound wide receiver visited with his teammate, Bishop Kenny quarterback John Wolford, a 2014 prospect.

Fulwood is one of many top-notch skill-position prospects in the state of Florida for 2013. He camped at Florida on June 15 and impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a scholarship offer.

Last Saturday, he was able to reconnect with those coaches. Fulwood called UF head coach Will Muschamp and offensive coordinator Charlie Weis “really cool coaches,” after speaking with both before the season opener.

But it was the atmosphere of the near-sellout crowd that made the biggest impression.

“It was incredible from beginning to end,” Fulwood said. “The attitude around there is just how you expect an SEC school to be like.”

Fulwood has said his top five teams are Florida, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Miami. He says it’s still to early to name a favorite. He plans to commit sometime next summer.

  1. Ok, well he’s going to have to change his top 5 or we can eliminate some right now. If UF has already given him an offer, I’m hoping that means he’s a high character kid, so we can cut Miami off the list. I’m assuming he would want to play for something more than “just the hell of it”, so we can eliminate ND. That leaves the 3 SEC schools. South Carolina doesn’t have a future QB and they’re pretty loaded at WR, so I’m not seeing that. I think it will come down to UF and UT. Both have great game day atmosphere, both have high character coaching. I think UF will have the edge with early interest, proximity to home, depth chart, and NFL ties, but we’ll have to wait and see.
