Things are really starting to heat up for Marcus Maye.
The high-flying Melbourne Holy Trinity safety is getting a ton of attention from colleges and recently checked out Florida to see what the Gators had to offer.
Maye, who has a verbal offer from Florida, said his visit went “really well.” He talked to a few of Florida’s current players, and after sitting down with coach Will Muschamp, he attended Florida’s basketball game.
Maye was accompanied by his mother, who had yet to visit any schools with her son. Maye said it was an “eye-opening” experience for her and she “really loved it.”
Maye said he’s been in constant contact with Robinson and linebackers coach D.J. Durkin and has been really impressed with the love Florida’s coaches have shown him.
“They are very interested in me,” he said. “They seem to care a lot about me off the field as well as on the field.”
Maye is also looking at FSU, Miami, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU and South Florida. He’s expecting to camp at a few schools this summer. He’ll visit FSU this weekend for the Seminoles’ Junior Day.
It’s an astute young man who realizes the Gators will care about him off AND on the field.
