Florida wide receiver commit Latroy Pittman wasn’t going to go into his senior year without getting more attention from other schools. Just because he committed to Florida last fall doesn’t mean other schools won’t actively recruit him.
That became even more evident after Urban Meyer’s resignation. Though the Citra North Marion athlete reaffirmed his Gator commitment, schools aren’t backing down.
Pittman said Florida State, Notre Dame, Arkansas, LSU and Alabama are a few of the schools contacting him.
While it’s flattering, Pittman said he’s still very solid in his commitment to Florida and taking in Junior Day last Saturday on campus only enhanced that feeling.
“The more I go up there it just feels like home more and more,” Pittman said.
It would be hard for Pittman to find much interest elsewhere considering the job he’s doing recruiting for the Gators. He had been talking with Seffner Armwood running back commit Matt Jones for some time and said he tried to get in his ear even more over the weekend.
Monday, Jones committed to the Gators.
“I can’t wait,” Pittman said. “All the pieces are falling into place.”
Right on Latroy, you and Matt can make coach Muschomp,s first class something really special.
I like this guy. Hopefully he keeps recruiting for us. C’mon LaTroy, pull us some OL and LB’s…lol. Hey Ed, can you muster up a list of 2012 recruits on Muschamp’s radar?? Keep up the good work.
Welcome to the Gator Nation Latroy!
What young man wouldn’t want to play football for the Gator Nation? When your heart and mind are in the right place – you will do nothing but experience success! Can’t wait to see Latroy and the other future recruits for the Gators. The sky is the limit! GO GATORS!!!
I have a child at N marion, seen Latroy play….I hope the Gators go after another N Marion kid, Jaime Gilmore. hes small, but a very explosive RB.
They’ll continue to come at you hard, young man. Stay true to your heart and we’ll welcome you to the Gator Nation next year.
Go Gators!
Don’t worry. It would take a lot, and I mean a lot to sway Pittman from UF. Nothing is ever etched in stone with such an early commit, but this kid looks pretty long-term solid IMO. Muschamp is one of the best recruiters in the country, as is Aubrey Hill and Charlie Weis.
I can’t wait to watch how our class begins shaping up this year for 2012. We’ll have the #1 class IMO.
I love Gator football. I love everything about it. Sounds like this kid does, too. My kind of Gator!
Go Gators! Muschamp is going to keep racking them in. Maybe Coach Boom will have us #1 this year.
Go Florida early…Nationally late…go BOOM.
igtbafg!
I LOVE THIS YOUNG MAN………..
YOU LOCAL FANS GO TO NORTH MARION HIGH FOOTBALL GAMES AND CHEER THE DUDE ON. I GREW UP IN CITRA…. THE FAN BASE IN FLORIDA GOT TO DO ITS PART.
I think I found my new son in-law.
As a 1993 graduate of North Marion and a huge Gator fan, this is fantastic news. Although Marion county has always had top notch talent, they were never able get the recognition. Latroy would be kicking the doors in even further for our homegrown talent to start getting some national exposure and big-time offers! Way to go Colts, keep molding these fine young men.
I’m looking for top 3 class next year, Edward how many recruits do we get next year.

I am an 92 grad Davido. I do think the athletes close to home get overlooked.
