The south end zone stands inside The Swamp on Saturday are going to be … swamped.
This is the biggest recruiting weekend for Florida’s staff as around 30 prospects from the 2011 and 2012 class will be in attendance for Florida’s matchup with No. 12 LSU.
But before we get to some of the players who will be in Gainesville, UF will be without one of its best recruiters Saturday.
Thursday night, Plantation linebacker Ryan Shazier said that because of transportation issues, he won’t be making his official visit this weekend. Instead, he’ll officially visit after the regular season.
“I wanted to go there really bad because I wanted to hang out with all of the recruits,” Shazier said.
Besides getting an extended stay at UF, Shazier said he was going to use most of his time Saturday night to recruit some of the guys on Florida’s radar.
“I was going to recruit hard and try to get us another top class,” he said. “I was going to show everybody around and show them how great everything is (at Florida).
The guys Shazier said he was targeting were Wadesboro, N.C., Anson linebacker Stephone Anthony and Lakewood, Calif., defensive lineman Todd Barr, who will both be in attendance Saturday.
Here are some of the players expected at Saturday’s game:

STILL SOME GREAT TALENT LEFT IN THE POOL, I HATE SHAZIER WON’T BE ABLE TO MAKE IT HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT INFLUENCE JUST AS TREY BURTON WAS WITH HIS CLASS.
Our play will do the recruiting so hopefully we show up.
Don’t forget that there are going to be a ton of top basketball recruits visiting this weekend. You should give those guys a shout out as well.
I went and watched Timmy Jernigan play last night and he is definitely a special kid! The bad news is, Alabama has a good chance of stealing him from us. That would be a major hit! He would be the crown jewel I this UF class. What do you think, Ed?
There’s a kid that plays DE for Columbia, Austin Reiter, that UF needs to look at. He is a junior and will really be on the move next year. He will play college ball somewhere!
So how about we get a pool of money going for a plane ticket for Shazier?
As a tiger alumni living in Florida, it’s been a real treat to see both Florida and LSU have tremendous success at the national level. Four (4) national BCS Championships in the last seven years between the two programs. I have complete respect for both teams and even pull for the Gators when we’re not facing each other. This game should be great either way and I’m really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Rest assured, however it turns out just about every other team in the nation looks up to these two programs and we’re both in very enviable positions on the national level! Go Tigers and best respect to Urban and the Gators! Game On!!!
Are any of them good at the dive play? That’s like 50% of the play book. The other 50% involves an uncanny ability to not know you’ll be blitzed when 3rd and 7 from your own end zone.
Okay, the game just ended, and somehow we almost pulled it out. I’m listening to Meyer’s post game comments. He said “the offense didn’t hold up their end of the deal.” That from an alleged offensive genius! Hey Coach, stop passing the buck!
He was asked how he thought the OL performed, and said he’d have to watch the film first. I guess it looks different on a monitor than in person. I watched it on a monitor (live), and AGAIN the Offensive Line was by far the chief offender! Their maturity and experience only makes them more accountable and thus more guilty! They are without excuse – plain and simple!!!
They couldn’t even give Brantley enough time to throw a hail mary – giving us one final chance to score, however remote!
Don’t tell me they were tired at the end: were they tired in the middle of the game, or at the beginning?? … for they sucked throughout!
This team is chock full of problems, but the OL is problem numero uno!!!
FIX IT NOW (through COACHING), or suffer even more Gator wrath!! CHOMP, CHOMP!
IGTBAG!
Ciao

Matt, that would definitely be an NCAA infraction, and I’m not even sure just joking about it isn’t one.
So Ed, You wrote that last week’s loss wont hurt recruiting that much. How about this week’s loss. How could any recruit, there or not, think there is soo much depth that they cant play if they are good enough? I am sooo frustrated with this team!!! Also, have you heard any recruits talking about Coach Meyer and him losing his fire?
Ed,
Are going after Jacoby Brissett ?
There’a lot of noise in the system!!!
I really hope Benjamin took from this visit what we needed him to take. We need playmakers at WR. A big target would be great. We lose Carl Moore after this season and from what we’ve seen, we’re below average everywhere else at receiver. Just not even fun to watch this team right now. One long and continuous held breath.
Another QB question, but what about Adam Pittser? He had high reviews at elite 11. Any chance we go after him too?
quickenedspirit: I asked the O-Line question … No real reason to bring that up just thought I would 🙂
