How is Saban getting so much talent piled up at Alabama? The way they are recruiting, they will eventually have 5 star players at every position! What are they doing to convince a 5 Star running back to sign and sit behind another guy for a few years? Is Saban that good of a recruiter that he can convince a kid that it’s in his best interest to sign when they are 2 – 3 deep at a position? Why do the kids say they don’t want to do such at other schools, but, they sign with Alabama in the same situation? I refuse to believe that Saban is a better recruiter than Meyer and Florida has much more to offer! Baffling!
Simple. Alabama pays them. It’s not like they haven’t done it before.
I just went back and looked at the star ranking of the super players that are now making a big impact on the gators. It is amazing how many of the 3 star and 4 star players really turn out to be the superstars of the future. Example Halapio, Burton, Evans etc, Many of the 5 star have gone by the wayside. This would make an interesting analysis for an article.
it’s not what the coach does altogether. It’s what the players on the team show to the recruits. Highly secretive ways of informing them that ALL will be taken care of. Don’t believe me? A’ight.
Mike–A gator fan accusing the Alabama program of misconduct? That’s really pretty funny. How long have you been a gator fan? Do you know ANYTHING about the program pre-Spurrier? (Or pre Meyer, for that matter.)
As for UF having more to offer than Alabama, have you been to Tuscaloosa and seen the facilities? Are you aware of the unrivaled support for the program that exists within the state? Sure there is Auburn, but the Tide doesn’t have to share allegiances with an FSU or UM, let alone smaller programs like USF, UCF, et. al.
The graduates (alumni) of Alabama have an organization, undercover so to speak, that funnels money and other perks to any kid that will sign to play for them. I have a very good friend that is a part of this group and he says they pay the average new kid about $12,000 over a three year period.
