Since my private messaging wasn’t working this week, I couldn’t get anyone’s questions. I apologize for that. It’s being worked on in our corporate offices, and I will post on the GSMB recruiting message board to let you know how to send your questions later this week.

So, for this Wednesday, I’ve got the updated Rivals.com Rivals100 rankings. It was not a good go-round for Gator commits this time. Most of the future fell in the rankings and a couple of players fell out of the Rivals250 as well. Still, the Gators have more commitments (seven) in the Rivals100 than any other school. Texas and USC come in second with six commits each.

  1. Hey Edward,
I think the rankings gives us an idea of what others think of that player but in the long run what they do with that talent in College is what matters. Allot of three stars have gone and became NFLer’s wher five stars fizzled. I remember the days when they were either considered Blue Chips or Red chips. Although it does seperate these kids from the rest of the talent out there and the fact that us couch potato coaches love the drama that associates with the star rankings, I am glad that we have a coach that looks at the character of the person as well. He might not always get things right, but he has been pretty close to getting the right kids for the program here at Florida. Just as Urban said in the practice video from the other day, if someone gets hurt, they just simply plug in now someone else. Great to be a Florida Gator.
One question Edward, do you think that one of the WR’s might end up playing a little tight end behind Hernandez? Seems like one of those guys are thick enough to do that. Another question, Do you think that Deonte has fallen out of a little favor with Tebow or was is it just that Coach pulled all the starters early last Saturday? I think that Deonte is a prime time WR and people just don’t realize how difficult it is to catch a pass at full speed and having to look up with the background of the fans in the stadium (not making excuses). I think that you are going to see Deonte catch everything this week but I know that he has to have the confidence from his QB as well.
