As we continue with the Season of Lists and wait for the thumbs up or thumbs down on the 2020 college football season, we bring you the top 25 players of the last decade for Florida football. A caveat — we chose not to include current players because their legacies are not complete. And don’t be mad because we didn’t include any kickers or punters. There were too many good players.
We continue the countdown with 11-15:
No. 15 — Dante Fowler Jr.
2012-14, Defensive end
Fowler was a flip from Florida State who made Gator fans thrilled with his decision. He finished his career with 33 tackles for a loss and 14.5 sacks, including a dominant performance in the Birmingham Bowl and was impressive enough to be the third pick of the draft.
No. 14 — Ahmad Black
Even with just the one year in the decade, Black was a stud on Urban Meyer‘ last team, finishing off his last game with a pick-six to clinch the Outback Bowl. His final season? 108 tackles and five interceptions.
No. 13 — Keanu Neal
Neal‘s three years at Florida are not as much about the numbers even though he had 129 tackles in his last two seasons, four interceptions and a fumble return for a score. It was about the way he commanded respect whether you were a teammate or a receiver coming over the middle.
No. 12 — Jon Bostic
Bostic was a bad man, a 250-pound linebacker who could run and had great instincts. That‘s how how piled up 219 tackles in three years and also came up with five picks.
No. 11 — Teez Tabor
Tabor may have been one of the best students of the game to play his position ever at Florida, as that is how he broke up 14 passes as a sophomore. He finished his career third on the all-time UF list for passes defended and also had eight interceptions.
