It didn’t take long for Tim Brewster’s hiring to positively impact Florida’s recruiting efforts.
Gage Wilcox, ranked the No. 10 tight end in the 2021 class by 247Sports, announced his verbal commitment Friday to Florida over offers from Georgia and Alabama.
The Jefferson (Tampa) product, who was recruited by Brewster, revealed his decision on Instagram Live.

As a junior, Wilcox hauled in 20 passes for 249 yards and seven touchdowns in just nine games.
The addition of Wilcox gives the Gators 13 commitments in the 2021 class and moves Florida ahead of Clemson into the No. 2 spot in 247Sports’ class rankings.
