Florida will play a home-and-home series against Cal for the 2026 and 2027 football seasons, the school announced. The Gators will face the Golden Bears in Gainesville on Sept. 19, 2026, and then travel to Berkeley, Calif., for a Sept. 4, 2027 contest.
The Gators recently announced and home-and-home series with Colorado for the 2028 and 2029 football seasons and Texas for the 2030 and 2031 seasons.
UF and Cal first met on Sept. 14, 1974, when the two schools opened the season in Gainesville with a 21-17 Gators win. Florida leads the series, 2-0, as the two teams last met in Tampa to open the 1980 season in a 41-13 UF win.
Coolio! Assuming I’m still above ground, Berkeley is only an hour or so flight from my SoCal neck of the woods.
You’re too ornery not to be above ground, Al. Thing is, we want Power-5 competition, but I guess until we get it we’ll have to settle for the PAC-12.
One never knows 6. One never knows.
Ditto, Albert. It’s only a bit over 2 hours from eastern Washington, and in ’27 I’ll only be 84!
Well here’s to 2027 then CRG! We’ll have to meet up for a hummus and kale tailgate.
😉
