A pair of former UF standouts are Super Bowl LIV bound.
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson had two catches for 31 yards to help the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Tennessee Titans 35-24 and claim their first AFC championship and Super Bowl appearanve since the 1969-70 season.
In the NFC Championship game in Santa Clara, the San Francisco 49ers handled the Green Bay Packers 37-20. Safety Marcell Harris made an appearance on the 49ers’ special teams. Cornerback Teez Tabor and receiver Chris Thompson are on the 49ers practice squad.
Super Bowl LIV will mark the 18th straight Super Bowl with a former UF player, dating back to Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Kenyatta Walker and Lomas Brown) defeated the Oakland Raiders (Mo Collins) by a final score of 48-21 in San Diego, Calif. This now marks 74 Super Bowl appearances by 57 former Florida football players.
UF is guaranteed to have a Super Bowl winner for the 22nd time, including a representative on the last three Super Bowl-winning teams.
