The playoff semifinals match the No. 1 seed vs. the No. 4 seed, and No. 2 will face No. 3. The semifinals will be hosted at the Peach Bowl (No. 1 LSU vs. No. 4 Oklahoma) and Fiesta Bowl (No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Clemson) on Dec. 28. The championship game will be played on Jan. 13, 2020 at New Orleans.
The committee should have finished this hack job on the SEC by sticking the 2nd best Pac 12 team and 3rd best Big 10 team in there ahead of UF, Auburn and Alabama. It sure looks like what they REALLY wanted to do was spread the top 10 spots as evenly as they could rationalize among the Power 5 conferences.
It’s up to all the dissed SEC teams to show everyone where they REALLY belong in the final ranking. I hope Alabama and Auburn show up for their consolation bowl games. I have a feeling our Gators will show up for theirs.
Once the committee got past the top four teams actually playing in the National Championship Playoffs, which was a no brainer, they appear to have shifted from actually rating teams based on their merits and body of works to politics.
