SEC honors Florida’s Diabate, Greenard

Florida linebacker Mohamoud Diabate and defensive end Jon Greenard were honored by the SEC on Monday for their play in Saturday’s 56-0 win over Vanderbilt.

Diabate was named freshman defensive player of the week after he recorded a career-high three sacks for a loss of 27 yards. He forced a fumble on his last sack, leading to an 80-yard touchdown By Greenard on the fumble recovery.

Greenard was named defensive lineman of the week after he tallied three tackles on Saturday, while scooping up the fumble for an 80-yard touchdown return in the third quarter. The touchdown marks the Gators’ first defensive TD of the season.
