UF’s 2021 class picked up a commitment early Sunday from a rising outside linebacker out of the Peach State.

Chief Borders, a 6-foot-3 prospect out of Powder Springs’ McEachern High, committed to Coach Dan Mullen and the Gators over offers from Auburn, Ohio State and Arkansas.

Borders took an unofficial visit to Gainesville over the weekend for Florida’s 56-0 victory over Vanderbilt, which led the 230-pound athlete to pledge to UF’s coaching staff.

With Borders’ commitment, the Gators have seven 2021 prospects committed in a class currently ranked No. 6 in the nation by 247Sports.
