In his first career start, New Orleans Saints rookie defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson helped fuel his team’s 36-25 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Gardner-Johnson, who played at Florida for three years before being taken in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft, had six tackles and two pass breakups as a slot corner/safety. Furthermore, according to Pro Football Focus, the Bears completed seven passes with Gardner-Johnson in coverage but those catches only went for a combined 18 yards.
