Florida remained No. 9 in the latest Associated Press college football rankings.
The Gators (3-0) overcame a 21-10 deficit in the fourth quarter Saturday night by dominating the period in the 29-21 win at Kentucky that saw UF lose starting quarterback Feleipe Fanks to an ankle injury.
“They feel pretty certain there was a break or dislocation, so he will be out for the year. That will be a huge loss for us,” UF coach Dan Mullen said.
Reserve Kyle Trask took over at quarterback and led the Gators to their seventh consecutive win.
Florida returns home for a 12 p.m. game Saturday against Tennessee (1-2).

I love my Gators but so far they have not looked like a top 10 team this year. Having said this “In Trask we Trust”….. Go Gators!
Has anyone voting us into the top 10 actually SEEN us play? I love the Gators, and I am hopeful we’ll be top 10 material by year’s end, but at this point I think we are more likely to end up outside the top 25 than we are to end up in the top 10. What about our stellar performances against Kentucky and Miami bespeak a top 10 team?
The fact that we didn’t lose, but that’s about all.
I think the problem for the voters is who to put in the Top 10 instead of the Gators. Texas would seem to qualify, but they did lose at home, and it’s a little early to have a Top 10 team with a loss. You could argue for Penn St, but they struggled with Pitt. I’d be more inclined to go with Wisconsin. After that, I think the Gators are as good as anybody, so you’d only move them down two or three spots at most. I think the voters probably rightly figure that the appropriate rankings will become much more clear as the season plays out, so they’re reluctant to make drastic changes at this point. It’ll take care of itself in time, and until then, we have these nice little tidbits to argue over….I mean discuss! Go Gators! Just Win Baby! (GGJWB)
Hey, gi. If you read this, can we collaborate on a Gator T-shirt with a “GG!JWB!” logo?
