Gators in the NFL

Rookie free agent offensive lineman Martez Ivey signed with the New England Patriots earlier this week.

Ivey, 24, played in 49 games with 44 starts at both guard and tackle during his four seasons at Florida. The 6-foot-5, 306-pounder earned Second Team All-SEC honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. Last season, Ivey started all 13 games for the Gators as part of an offensive line that allowed just 18 sacks over the course of the entire season.

Ivey, who was not drafted, also took part in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis earlier this year.

Moral Stephens: The tight end signed with the Denver Broncos last weekend.

Stephens caught eight passes for 106 yards and three touchdowns as a redshirt senior. The 6-foot-4, 247-pound player was a key special teams contributor for the Gators and made an impact as a run blocker.

Stephens signed with the Bills in May after participating in the team’s rookie minicamp as a tryout player. The Bills waived him in early June.
