Florida’s 2020 class picked up its fifth commitment in the span of six days when Portsmouth (Va.) I.C. Norcom weak-side defensive end Antwaun Powell pledged to the Gators.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Powell is ranked the No. 6 weak-side defensive end in the 247Sports composite ranking. The four-star prospect committed to Florida over Michigan and Oklahoma, among others.

Powell’s addition brings UF’s 2020 recruiting class to 18 prospects and moves the Gators’ class ranking up No. 6 in 247Sports’ rankings.

With Friday Night Lights, and the commencement of fall camp, a month away, Florida’s 2020 recruiting class could only just be getting started.

  1. I want the best of the best that want to be better to want to come here and play maybe Florida first but any of the other states will work if they want to work hard play and stay out of trouble while getting a world class education.

    • You have well-informed posts over the years. When we have been at our best with Urbs for example…we of course recruited the state, but also filled gaps nationally…Harvin, Spikes, Hill, Shaw, Haden, Dunlap, Cunningham, Hernandez, Newton ( we know he xferred) are all examples.
