The Florida Gators are going to have a chance to show early in the season if they’re ready-for-prime-time players. UF’s first three games are all going to be played under the lights, in prime time, the SEC revealed Thursday.

The Aug. 24 season opener against Miami in Orlando has a 7 p.m. kickoff and is being televised by ESPN.

Two weeks later, on Sept. 7, the Gators will open their home schedule against UT-Martin at 7:30 p.m.,  either on ESPNU or the SEC Network Alternate Channel.

On Sept. 14, the Gators open their road schedule at Kentucky with a 7 p.m. kick on ESPN.

UF’s annual game against Georgia in Jacksonville will again be televised by CBS with the traditional 3:30 p.m. start time.

  1. It can’t get here fast enough, I don’t know about ya’ll , but I’m already very weary of hearing the cane fans running that trap about how they gone do this and that. Come on Gators and lay the wood to em.

    • Gator65 – night games in Gainesville are dark heat games…LOL. After practicing during the day the night games will be a welcomed relief. If we can make it through those first 3 games with 3 wins and no injuries, that just might set the tempo for an outstanding season. I hope the chemistry is there for the entire team as we have been waiting for a return to prominence. I am going to start watching last years games again. That is one thing about Dish network…you can store 2000 hours worth of crap and watch it when you want to…even in a thunderstorm when the satellite goes out you can still watch all saved content. I am not pushing Dish, but it sure did sound like it. I can turn a 3 hour show into under two hours by fast forwarding through all of the BS. I find myself trying to FF live tv and that just won’t work. GO GATORS!!!

        • 6 – the same with dish concerning SEC and alternates. Besides dtv and the nfl are illegally holding a monopoly on watching favorite games live. Why would I support the nfl or the fins if I cannot watch live except with paying the extortion $$$ through dtv? How many service members do you know that actually went back to their original home base? Baseball is the same way. When I joined the Army I was able to watch the Braves play on tnt or tbs. Now you have to pay for a service to watch them and they still have commercials too. So the only way I can oppose this and other situations are to quit watching and/or supporting them. I also quit buying movies due to all of the lefties political views and hatred. I know that put a dent into the movie world. I did just watch a Clint Eastwood birthday of his movies. I have so much free time now on weekends after giving up pro sports except NASCAR. And I don’t miss a thing…LOL. GO GATORS!!!

      • GEd you are right they are still hot but you don’t have that bright ball burning you to the seats. I hope the chemistry (good choice of words on your part) come fast or continues from last year. We could be on the way to some good things. GO GATORS!!!!🐊
