Center T.J. McCoy will transfer to Louisville, he announced on his Twitter account Monday.

McCoy, a rising redshirt senior, saw action in four games in 2018 for the Gators. He started Florida’s first nine games at center in 2017 before suffering a season-ending injury at South Carolina.

  1. TJ contributed greatly to the Gator football team with his mental and physical toughness, positive attitude and desire to win. He will be missed – we wish him the best in his football journey going forwrard – Louisville has a great football program – I am sure he will flourish there!

  2. i hope this works out for him and for next years team, as offensive line is already depleted from players graduating etc. perhaps the remaining guys will be as good, TJ contributed so much a couple of years ago and i wish him the best.

  3. He wasn’t good enough to start, I don’t blame him for moving on, thanks for your time with the Gators and enjoy your time in Louisville. As a Louisville resident I can tell you that our football team is a dumpster fire and be prepared for a long rebuild of which you can set a foundation.

    • His biggest issue is he’s a little undersized for the SEC and especially Mullen’s offense. Mullen and Hevesy love the big uglies. He definitely didn’t lack heart. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him starting a Louisville.

  4. That is cool, TJ found himself as our 3rd string center and now maybe he can start in the ACC, wish him the best. We essentially traded a backup center for a front line pass rusher, not bad.
This is another example of how Mullen uses personnel in a different way than the previous regime. TJ was a starter for Mac but could not crack the lineup with Mullen, another example is Campbell who has started for Mullen from day one over the Bam Bam kids that were so hyped up with Mac.
