Alabama leads all SEC schools with seven players declaring for the 2019 NFL draft, with Florida following suit with five.

A full list of players granted eligibility will be released by the NFL on Friday. The draft will be held April 25–27 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Tide had the most active NFL players on 53-man rosters at the start of the 2018 season, per the NCAA, with 44. LSU was next with 40 and UF had 38. Those were the top three in the nation. Miami and Ohio State had 36 each to tie for fourth and FSU was sixth with 33.

The SEC led all conferences with 335 players on active NFL rosters at the start of the 2018 season — 96 more than the next conference (Big Ten).

        • LB is not an issue, Joseph was good but we have several guys that can step in for him that cn do the same or better. Reese would have been more difficult to replace.
Chauncy was great but with Wilson coming back you can slide Trey Dean in his place or maybe Burney and they will do fine.
O line is where the questions remain.

          • Yes. I think it will be OK, even better than OK, and I don’t think it will take more than one or two games for the OL to become an effective, efficient fighting unit. Unfortunately, we’ve got Miami right off the bat. I’m not overly worried, despite the recent WWF style comments of their AD — but this is one time I’d rather have Charleston Southern or Idaho up front.

Did I just say that? No way, it must have been my evil twin, Skippy.

    • Something else to ponder – these players leaving Florida for the NFL were recruited by he that will remain nameless. And three of the five from U of F will likely be 1st rounders. Like CO stated – it goes to show you how important coaching up the talent is. It is as though we had some semi-pro coaches, but now we landed a professional coach in CDM. His group of coaches and the rest that he hired are top notch. Let us hope that if another school comes looking for coaches from us to promote on their team, well let’s hope that they get payed more to stay here. GO GATORS!!!

  1. ”The Tide had the most active NFL players on 53-man rosters at the start of the 2018 season, per the NCAA, with 44. LSU was next with 40, and Florida had 38. Those were the top three in the nation.”
”The SEC, it just means more!” So young athletic men, who want to play in the league called, THE NFL one day, then come to the SEC! And if you dream of being ”Gator legendary” like so many have before: Jack Youngblood, Emmitt Smith, Tim Tebow, etc.., then come to THE UNIV. OF FLORIDA! Go Gators!

  2. This is great news for the Gators and the SEC. W-L in conference is relative to what your conference is like, weak or strong. Having almost 100 (96) more players in the NFL than the next conference is huge. That is a conference putting quality players in the NFL. 122 from the top three schools! 36% of the players from the SEC were from the top three. So as GI said. Young men wanting to play in the big dance should look at the schools that put the most in the league. The differences between the three are likely statistically insignificant so one would beg the question.. Why wouldn’t you want to come play in the best environment one could ask for and get a top notch education on top of it here at UF. The ice cream with the cherry on top. GO GATORS!!
    And this was requested:
OK here are the countdown timers. It doesn’t go to game time because I don’t have that.
    National Signing Day
Approximate Date for the Orange and Blue Game
    Opening Day 2019

  3. I’d like to see a breakdown of all those players from Bama, LSU and UF, how many are starters. That would really show the difference. Yes, we’ve had talent, but was it top tier game changing talent? I think that stat would clarify.
