Top-50 overall recruit Diwun Black is changing course in his recruitment.
The 4-star linebacker from Forest, Miss., committed to Ole Miss in the spring, but has now decided to take his talents elsewhere.
The 6-foot-4, 219-pound Black is ranked the nation’s No. 3 inside linebacker and No. 22 overall recruit by 247Sports. His other offers include Florida, Mississippi State, Southern Cal and Texas.
In the video above, Black pays tribute to his younger brother Landon McGee, who died in 2016 from an accidental gunshot wound at age 14. After describing how McGee’s death inspires him on the football field, Black reveals his new college destination.
OMG. What great news! Maybe the dominos are starting to fall in Florida’s direction now. Huge flip by Mullen. Congrats, coaches, on some mighty fine recruiting work. And what a great success story for Mr. Black. Go Gators.
Tampa I said it would happen. With the crap in OS we could get some more.
Zach, are you back??!! I sure hope so! Man, I’ve missed your excellent and in depth Gator reporting!
Zach obviously knew he was flipping (but kept it a secret) as most of this footage is from Black’s FNL visit. Makes you wonder what else Mr. Abolverdi knows but isn’t telling us!
Keep the good news coming!
Joe, Zack is now a freelance writer and a producer of recruit commitment videos according to his twitter account. No doubt freelance sold this to GS.
Meant, Chris, in the above post. Sorry, Joe.
Yes Sir! I remember watching Tebow interview Mullen on SEC Nation last year and I told my wife that I wished he was our head coach. I could barely stomach Cheetos Teeth’s interviews. Needless to say I’m a huge Mullen fan but the negativity and doom and gloom over recruiting has been tough to be patient through. I hope this is only the beginning of some great momentum coming out way. Hopefully some on the field success will help as well. GO GATORS!
Great news but horrific production quality for a video that’s supposed to rep the U of F and the Mighty Gators! Videographer and audio 101 – DO NOT use a room with such audio dynamics (hallow-echo) to record interviews!!
