Lomas Brown, arguably the best left offensive tackle in Florida history, is on the 2019 ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame.
This is the fourth year in a row Brown has been on the ballot.
Brown was a four-year starter for the Gators (1981-84) and was a consensus All-American in 1984. He was considered the cornerstone of the ’84 offensive line that was known as “The Great Wall.”
After his decorated career at UF, Brown went on to play 18 seasons in the NFL and made the Pro Bowl seven times. He was a Super Bowl champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002.
On the 2019 HOF ballot, there are 100 former college players and coaches. The 2019 class will be announced on Jan. 7, 2019 and the induction ceremony will be held Dec. 10, 2019.
Lomas should be in both the college and pro HOF.
Mr.Brown’s one of the best ever at UF. Totally agree, should be HOF college & pro.
I wish Lomas, Max Starks and the Pouncey twins had some eligibility left.
All of Gator Nation does!!!
Waaaaaay overdue.
He was the last scholarship in 84 as I recall.
Was shocked that he wasn’t already there….unbelievable, but WELL DESERVED!
