It doesn’t get much better than November when it comes to college football. It’s the time of year when every team except Alabama knows that one loss could derail championship hopes. It’s when division champions are crowned and everything just seems to be “one” louder.
Forget the rivalry games such as Florida-FSU and Georgia-Georgia Tech for a moment. They are window dressing for the culmination of an intense SEC regular season.
In fact, there are so many big games, we’re giving you the three biggest SEC games each week. Of course, we are leaving out the penultimate week, the black sheep of November when you need a Hubble to find big games.
Nov. 3
1. Alabama at LSU: It may not be the big game it once was because the Tigers can’t beat the Tide. But it still gets the juices flowing.
2. Georgia at Kentucky: This is exactly the kind of game the Wildcats need to win for people to start taking them seriously.
3. Texas A&M at Auburn: Call it a gut feeling that this will be big when it comes around.
Nov. 10
1. Auburn at Georgia: The two teams played twice last year with the Bulldogs winning the game that really mattered. This will be an epic rematch.
2. Mississippi State at Alabama: It’s difficult to see Alabama losing home games, but if the Bulldogs stay healthy this could be a great game.
3. South Carolina at Florida: In a perfect world, this would be one of those years where it had major SEC East ramifications. Will Muschamp vs. his old team is always intense.
Nov. 22-24
1. Auburn at Alabama: When you’re Auburn and you have bragging rights for a year, you don’t want that year to ever end. But it will. This could be a de facto playoff game.
2. Miss. State at Ole Miss (Nov. 22): You know, this might have taken over as the biggest rivalry in this conference when it just comes to pure hate. Thanksgiving night, what could be better?
3. LSU at Texas A&M: Oh, to be able to travel in time and see where these two teams are at this point in the season. It might be huge. It might be ugly.
Why would a picture of a previous coach be on this article? Current coach does not have any file photos???
I think because it’s more of an SEC article than Gator specific one. I asked the same question, tho, before I realized that.
Of all the SEC coaches pictures the staff had to pick that one?
I’ll take Mullen’s team over Muschamp’s in The Swamp for sure
Over not only Muschamp’s, Gary, but Taggart’s too.
Gator, I agree
Still feel for Will. He was not prepared to be a HC at Florida. I think he is closer to getting it now. The last guy we had maybe had the recruiting finally figured out but not much else. If we give Dan a little time we’ll be great again.
I sort of do too, Lee. The guy at least had fire in his belly. I’ve said for a while now that he’s developing into a good SEC coach at USC.
I agree, and I wish him well when he is not coaching against the Gators. He did get over $2 million in “severance pay”.
Love Champ in a recruits living room. That guy could sell ice to the Eskimos.
The Eskimos do like some good ice..
Boy, if I were an Eskimo Micah, I’d get my froze butt down to Florida right away. We got some good ice too!
