UF hasn’t heard anything back yet from the NCAA concerning the eligibility of transfer wide receivers Van Jefferson (Ole Miss) and Trevon Grimes (Ohio State). The two are hoping to be ruled eligible for the 2018 season.
“File everything with the NCAA and let them go through their steps and their process and just cooperate with them in whatever they need to make that decision,” UF coach Dan Mullen said Wednesday.
Mullen said UF has been given no timeline on a decision.
“In any of those things that I’ve dealt with in the past with the NCAA I never try to guess,” Mullen said. “I never try to put a timeline on it. Some days you’ll get an answer back within a day or two and some days it’s extended a long time. I’ve seen every different scenario so I just don’t even try to guess.”
The Ole Miss situation (concerning Jefferson) is very complex and could take some time to resolve. I believe six former Ole Miss players are requesting waivers to play immediately at their new universities. And I am sure the NCAA is taking a very close look-and-see view as to how the Grimes family health issue impacts Trevon Grimes on a day to day basis before they render their decision about his transfer waiver request for immediate play at UF.
Thanks Tampa, more enlightening than the article, which had zero info.
Does it matter? We all know that the pre-season hype for the Gators will soon reach “Ludicrous Speed”, no matter what happens. I recall how UF had the “best” receving corps in the SEC last year or how the offensive line was much stronger after being called out by McElwain last year before Spring practice. Mullen has even resorted to trying to B.S. everyone about how much stronger UF is. The latest charade is the “before” and “after” pictures. You show players standing in a certain posture and then, as if by magic, they are hulks flexing. An intelligent person knows how flawed that is because it’s not even remotely close to a valid comparison. Let’s see them standing in the same posture as “before” or show them flexing “before.” But, as usual, there are pundits and fans that eat up that crap. We’ll see, but right now Mullen is almost as big of a con artist as his predecessor.
I don’t recall anyone saying UF had the best receivers in the SEC last year. If they did, it must have been before Callaway screwed up. There’s no way anyone said it after that.
”Tebow-enyious/Ludicrous lover”, ”…you talk too much! You NEVER shut-up!.” -Look it up!
And it’s obvious you don’t know a damn thing about weight lifting. Your (B.F.) and you will go away soon, not decent or truth-filled enough to say you were wrong!
