Jones (Fl.) Orlando safety Marcus Tillman Jr. has decided to re-open his recruitment and de-commit from the University of Florida, the class of 2019 prospect announced Wednesday.
In a note posted to his Twitter account, Tillman thanked former UF coach Jim McElwain and assistant coaches Kerry Dixon and Corey Bell before announcing his de-commitment, adding that Gators remain near the top of his list of prospective programs to land the three-star prospect.

Ranked the No. 26 outside linebacker by 247Sports, Tillman committed to the Gators on June 14 but has continued exploring his options, with unofficial visits to Ohio State and South Carolina in the months following his commitment to UF.
With Tillman’s de-commitment, the Gators have six verbal commitments in the 2019 class.
Well, heck! Another high school junior that thinks that Jim McElwain is the best coach to develop his talent. That pretty much wrecks our 2019 class. Oh, the humanity!
More likely another 3 star South Florida Randy Shannon special told to look elsewhere by our new coaching staff. Good luck young man.
I don’t know about you, oldman, but as for me I’m crushed. Devastated. No, destroyed now.
Hang in there, Gator-6. I really think Coach Mullen will come up with something better and not waste a scholarship on a 1 star project from Mildew, Michigan or Foul Water, Florida.
Once Mullen gets Florida back to its winning ways there will be plenty of recruits coming to Gainesville.
i RESPECT HIS DECISION, BUT HE JUST MADE ROOM FOR A 4 – 5 * RECRUIT. i THINK AS A 3* RECRUIT, IF YOU GET AN OFFER FROM A BIG TIME PROGRAM YOU SHOULD FOR YOUR OWN SAKE TRY TO STICK WITH IT BECAUSE YOU MAY NOT GET ANOTHER “BIG TIME SHOT”. I DON’T CONSIDER SOUTH CAROLINA A “bIG tIME sHOT”. OBVIOUSLY HE DOESN’T CONSIDER UF AS A BIG TIME SHOT EITHER.
As much as I respect his decision (insert me attacking the decision of a 17 year old kid….)……
You got it all wrong Creek…..Florida dropped football as an intercollegiate sport. They must have, there is nothing at all in the national sports media about them. Plenty though on forecasting other “slipped” programs for great things next year. Like, FSU, Michigan, WVU, Texas and so on, and on, and on. Only conclusion I can come to anymore.
It’s so early what difference does it make. All the recruits will be watching how Florida plays this year so that stuff is far off at this point. Mullen’s is everywhere and you can see he is establishing connections all over. I think Florida does real well this year and recruiting explodes in their favor for the 2019 class. I’m very optimistic with Mullen’s. We’ve seen him coach and win. Now he is in charge of the Florida Brand which makes all the difference and most of all he wants to be here. Time will tell. Attitudes are really changing in G’ville. I’m excited.
The kid says nobody from UF has contacted him since Coach Mac was fired. The coaches have been focused on saving the 2018 recruiting class and he’s a 2019. But nobody has made any contact with him.
Poor baby.
