Fifth-year linebacker Jon Bostic became the newest editon to the Colts growing IR list as he went down with a knee injury in Indianapolis’ 25-13 loss to Denver last Thursday.
The Colts have lost nine starters to injuries this year and Bostic is as big as any them not named Andrew Luck. Bostic finished his season with a team-leading 97 tackles (six for a loss), one sack, three pass deflections and a fumble recovery after starting all 14 games so far this season.

On Wednesday, Tampa Bay placed cornerback Vernon Hargreaves (hamstring) on IR. He will miss Sunday’s game at Carolina, as well as Tampa Bay’s home finale against New Orleans on Dec. 31.

The Gators ranked in the top five for most impactful NFL rookie classes according to writer Daniel Jeremiah. He points to solid play by Jarrad Davis at middle linebacker for Detroit, Marcus Maye’s play with the New York Jets and Alex Anzalone’s good start with the Saints before he got injured. Four of the top five classes, according to Jeremiah were SEC schools and shows how much leadership Florida lost last year to the NFL draft.
Around the NFL, Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. recorded a sack, two tackles and hit Texans quarterback T.J. Yates twice in Jacksonville’s 45-7 romp over division-foe Houston on Sunday.
Fowler has 7.5 sacks this year for the Jags who lead the NFL with 51 sacks and six defensive touchdowns this season and are second in forced fumbles and interceptions.
The third-year defensive end was thought to have suffered a hamstring injury Sunday, but he missed just one series and returned as Jacksonville clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2007.

Eagles tight end Trey Burton added to his touchdown total (5) for the year as he hauled in a 13-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Nick Foles to take a lead in Philadelphia’s 34-29 win in New York over the Giants. Burton also had two tackles on special teams as he continues to show his versatility for the NFC-leading Eagles.

Colts linebacker Antonio Morrison had his second highest career total in tackles with 12 total tackles in Indy’s 25-13 Thursday night loss to Denver. Teammates Quincy Wilson and Jon Bostic chipped in with eight and five total tackles apiece.
Lions linebacker Jarrad Davis had six total tackles for Detroit in its 20-10 win over Chicago on Saturday while cornerback Teez Tabor made three tackles for the Lions.
Bills wide receiver Deonte Thompson had just one reception for 16 yards in Buffalo’s home win over Miami on Sunday.
Defensive end Carlos Dunlap had two tackles, one for a loss and a hit on the quarterback as Cincinnati fell to Minnesota 34-7.
Jets safety Marcus Maye had seven total tackles as New York fell to New Orleans 31-19.
Panthers Defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. made two tackles in Carolina’s 31-24 win over Green Bay.
Browns defensive tackle Caleb Brantley had a career-high three solo tackles in Cleveland’s 27-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
49ers wide receiver Louis Murphy reportedly had an illness all week going into San Francisco’s game against the Titans but Murphy was on the field for 33 snaps against Tennessee but did not receive any targets.
