Oakland Raiders free safety Reggie Nelson has 35 career interceptions, eight forced fumbles and seven recoveries and a defensive touchdown in his 11-year NFL career.
He has the second-most interceptions (26) since 2011 of any player in the NFL, trailing only Richard Sherman of Seattle who has 32.
He helped lead a Raiders defense last year that topped the NFL in turnover differential (+16) and Nelson himself led the team with five INTs.
But this year, he has forced zero turnovers, and Oakland is the only team without an interception this season and is dead last in pass deflections, Nelson has just two.
Nelson’s only stat this past Sunday were five tackles in a 33-8 loss to New England in Mexico City.
Breaks my heart to see Reggie Nelson fall off and get dogged by the announcers. 😒

Around the NFL, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap sacked Denver quarterback Brock Osweiler twice and added four tackles and a pass deflection to help the Bengals get a 30-27 win in Denver on Sunday. The win marks Cincinnati’s first win in Denver since 1975.
Buffalo wide receiver Deonte Thompson led the Bills in targets with eight and caught three passes for 36 yards in Buffalo’s 54-24 loss to the L.A. Chargers. Thompson also may have suffered an injury in the blowout loss to the Chargers in the third quarter.
Houston Texans linebacker Jelani Jenkins made four total tackles in Houston’s 31-21 win over Arizona. Steelers starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert was suspended four games Monday for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy. Gilbert will not appeal the suspension, meaning he is barred from the team’s facility until Dec. 18, a day after the Steelers host New England in a showdown that could decide home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs. “I apologize to my teammates, coaches and the entire Steelers family,” Gilbert said in a statement. “Regretfully, I inadvertently took a banned substance. I promise to come back in great shape and will be ready to play when my suspension is over.” Gilbert has missed five games this season due to a lingering hamstring issue.
On Monday Night Football, Atlanta’s Gator duo of Keanu Neal and Brian Poole were integral to Atlanta’s 34-31 win at Seattle. Poole made five total tackles and Neal made nine, including this big hit on Seattle’s tight end Jimmy Graham as he was trying to score.
