True freshman wide receiver James Robinson has not practiced this week due to a potential issue with his heart, Florida coach Jim McElwain said Wednesday.

“He had something show up in his echocardiogram, whatever it’s called, which is not good,” McElwain said. “Obviously, our specialists at Shands will handle exactly what that is. We’ll take every precaution to help him as he moves forward.

“The heart muscle has something to do there. I don’t know exactly, but it’s not a high ankle sprain. I’ll tell you that.”

Robinson was suspended from the opener last week after being cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession two weeks ago. McElwain said Monday that Robinson was back and eligible to play in Saturday’s opener.

  1. I don’t believe that test is common for individuals of his age, they must have seen something before taking it. I hope he is healthy, and if his career is over then he gets a great education, which he should get no matter.
