While the current Gators spent the Summer training and participating in organized team activities, much of Florida’s coaching staff spent the offseason recruiting across the country. After building strong relationships with many top prospects in the 2018 class, Florida’s recruiting took off in July.
Thanks to momentum from Florida’s annual recruiting showcase in mid-July, Gators coach Jim McElwain and UF’s 2018 class landed verbal commitments from 10 prospects in the span of four weeks, which boosted the team up from No. 62 all the way to No. 8 nationally in 247Sports’ 2018 class rankings.
Now, Florida’s recruiting efforts will be focused on bringing the remaining targets to Gainesville in the Fall for official visits. With National Signing Day just months away, here are the 17 prospects verbally committed to Florida’s 2018 class.
