Florida’s 2018 class landed a commitment Sunday from a four-star running back out of Bainbridge (Ga.).
Dameon Pierce, a 5-foot-11, 205-pound prospect out of Bainbridge High, verbally committed to the Gators over offers from Auburn, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia.
Pierce, the No. 9-ranked running back prospect in the 2018 class by 247Sports, took an unofficial visit to Gainesville in May, but has been in consistent contact with UF running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider throughout his recruitment. Pierce de-committed from Alabama in May and quickly prioritized Auburn and Florida throughout the summer.
With Pierce’s commitment, which is non-binding until he signs a letter of intent, the Gators have 17 commits in the 2018 class, which now has two four-star running backs, with Iverson Clement of Rancocas Valley (Mount Holly, N.J.) being the other.
