Florida landed a verbal commitment Wednesday night from one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2018 class.
Jacob Copeland, a 6-foot, 190-pounder from Escambia High in Pensacola, committed to Florida over offers from Florida State and Alabama.
Copeland took an unofficial visit July 21 to Gainesville during Friday Night Lights, Florida’s annual recruiting showcase, where he had an opportunity to visit the facilities while spending time with the coaching staff. The four-star’s commitment gives the Gators two prospects ranked inside the top-10 at their position by 247Sports.
With Copeland’s commitment, which is non-binding until he signs a letter of intent, the Gators have 16 commitments in the 2018 class.
