For the second season in a row, Florida’s Alex McMurtry doubles up on top Southeastern Conference gymnastics individual honors.

She picked up her second consecutive SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award last Saturday at the SEC Championships. Thursday, McMurtry was named the SEC Event Specialist of 2018.

In 2017, the SEC Gymnast and Scholar-Athlete awards both went to McMurtry. She is one of two in league history to combine a top individual honor with SEC Scholar-Athlete and the first multiple year winner.

Florida equaled the league high with six on the All-SEC team and a pair on the All-SEC Freshman team: McMurtry, Alyssa Baumann, Alicia Boren, Rachel Gowey, Amelia Hundley and Rachel Slocum. On the All-Freshman team: Baumann and Megan Skaggs.

Softball: Florida is set to host Hampton and Jacksonville in a series of games starting Friday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

The times for the Gators’ (28-4) games were adjusted due to the high chance of rain entering the area later in the day. Florida will now play Hampton at 10 a.m. and Jacksonville at noon. The game times for Saturday will stay as originally scheduled.

Men’s tennis: No. 10 Florida takes on the No. 1 ranked Demon Deacons of Wake Forest on Friday. This will be the Gators final non-conference match of the regular season and give the Gators a look at the host site of the NCAA Tournament. The match between the Gators and Demon Deacons is scheduled to begin a 3 p.m. on Friday. If the match is forced inside due to weather, live scoring and video will still be provided.
