Larry, they did say the agreement is verbal only to this point and the contract still needs to be signed. But former assistants say they have been asked to come coach with him at UCLA. We will see.
Scout/Florida is reporting the same thing but no deal is final and the ball is now back in Florida’s court to counter. Florida can do that or walk away, I guess.
If Chip Kelly chose’s UCLA, who could blame him because you should not demand that he keep Randy Shannan or any other coach……… What a fool Scott Strickland is if this report by CBS Sports is true. I have already lost faith in this AD/guy, because his guy is Dan Mullethead you gator’s remember how they use to Boo his Offence play calling.
Just sick as hell with all the crap that has happen down there in Hog Wild Town??????????
We all want to see UF bring back the Mighty Gators, but to do that Florida needs to find a football wizard in the mold of Steve Spurrier. Someone bold, innovative, crafty and even a bit aloof. Kelly showed flashes of all those traits during his brief tenure at Oregon. He was, if nothing else, unpredictable and confident running his offense–something longed for at the swamp. Maybe Kelly can build on that if he choses to lead the Gators. Spurrier ran a pretty clean show. Hope Kelly will keep his eyes open wider if he takes over supervision of recruiting at UF. He has the makings of a football wizard and that’s what a lot of gators fans miss walking the sidelines on Saturdays, even if he doesn’t throw his visor. But he’s got to want to be here. And if it’s not Kelly, I hope whoever it is comes close.
Kelly would be a terrible hire for Florida and the SEC culture. I agree a Spurrier or Gruden would be the class offensive kids we need. Also a new coach needs full staff is new hires. The time for Florida to rise up is getting late. Go gators. Former student and football manager 1961-1965
John Tucker: Spurrier mixed up the SEC culture like a whirlwind. He brought the fun ‘n gun. He redefined things. Kelly would give other coaches a challenge to game plan against. I don’t see how that would be terrible. I hated Foley’s folly–trying to find Saban disciples to copy cat Alabama. It didn’t work and was counterfeit. We need someone who can stand in his own boots.
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful to be a gator. if Chip Kelly doesn’t want to come here, ok..id still rather be a gator, think about it, unbelievably bad year, losing to teams coached by ed orgeron and wil Muschamp, credit card fraud, bizarre firing of a coach whose contract had just been extended, right before the most important game in recent years, strange choices of playing a quarterback that couldn’t read downfield, inability to handle a blitz, and problems in linebacker range plus effort, Id still rather be a gator than anything else, by a factor of 100. we may need some time, but there is nothing better anywhere. not Clemson, not bama, not Michigan, not anywhere.
would be nice to have transcripts of these podcasts for Christmas!
Who cares. No matter who the new coach is, he/she whatever will not just “Turn on a Switch” to a winning team. Florida Football is Broke. I doubt they even have a winning season, let alone a Bowl Game, for several years to come. I’m turning my focus to Basketball, at least they are focused, and are headed in the right direction, with a great coach. Too bad Spurrier and/or Meyer didn’t stick around, thought FL was doing pretty damn good with them. Why’d they leave? Why would someone of their “caliber” even consider coaching at Florida??

Bruin Report Online is saying that Chip Kelly has accepted the UCLA job over Florida.
More fake news I hope but we’ll see soon enough

Complete bogus story about Kelly to UCLA. Some bad reporting. I should have realize it was a grain of salt.
Again, what a tool…
