Florida ended a five-game losing streak Saturday with a 36-7 win over Alabama-Birmingham at Florida Field.

The Gators improved to 4-6, while the Blazers fell to 7-4.

Pineiro, who finished 5-for-5 on field goals, put the Gators up 3-0 following the game’s first offensive series with a 39-yard field goal at the 10:27 mark Saturday at Florida Field. It’s UF’s first lead since leading 17-16 vs. Texas A&M on Oct. 15 following the 10-play, 45-yard drive.

UF receiver Kadarius Toney has his left knee wrapped with ice after limping off following a run from the wildcat formation. The Gators have only 53 scholarship players available today, that’s 32 out due to suspensions and injuries.

The Gators didn’t do much with the turnover, bringing on a 26-yard field goal by Pineiro at the 1:10 mark.
Franks was shaken up on a sack on the previous play when the defender landed on his legs. He walked off the field on his own power, but he went to the training table. UF coach Randy Shannon said Franks will be evaluated at the break.

  1. Perfect example of why this team is a failure. Pass to Cleveland for a long gain. At first it looks like a catch and big gain. Then Cleveland lays down on the ground with a sprained toe instead of getting off the field and helping to insure the play stands. Lays on the field for a while and needs no assistance getting up or off the field. Play overturned. These players just aren’t vested. No success, no problem. Team is so whimpy.

  2. Couple plays later Powell is running a crossing route. The defender nudges him with his elbow. Instead of completing the route or trying to make a catch, he starts arguing for a flag. This is football, right?

  3. Seriously wondering what’s wrong with some people on this board. We are winning, moving the ball, the offense seems to have opened up, UAB was held to 32 yards of total offense and you are still complaining. Maybe you’re not happy unless you’re complaining about something. Cheer up and enjoy the game:)

  4. Thank you Florida Fandom, today you made me happy and proud, the season not really what we wish for, but the faithful still supporting the team, wishing I was there!!!!. And in return the team has responded with what I think is their best game of the year. Like always we still have a few juveniles that no matter what, are going to find something to complain about, shame on them. No matter what, VERY PROUD OF BOTH THE TEAM AN OUR FANS!!!!, GO GATORS!!!!!!
