Florida sophomore wide receiver

Q: How confident are you that you can beat Georgia?

A: We haven’t lost to Georgia in the last three years, our seniors have never lost to Georgia, so I think that mentality that they bring, being that they’ve never lost to Georgia, that brings a lot of confidence to us, just knowing that Georgia isn’t a team that we lose to. So I think that’s the message in the locker room right now: They might be the No. 3 team in the country, but they can’t beat Florida. That’s our mentality going forward and we’ll come out and be ready to play.

Q: The Gators are huge underdogs. Will you guys use that as motivation this week?

A: Definitely. We’re coming off two losses, and we had the bye week to clean it up and get guys healthy. So we’re getting a lot of guys back, and I think we’ll be ready to play. And us being the underdog, you know, we can take advantage of it because nobody’s going to pick us to win. But we know we’ve got us, and we’re ready to play.

Q: What has Malik Zaire shown during practice? Can he provide a spark?

A: I don’t know. I don’t know about the QB chain. I don’t know anything about that. But Malik goes through practice just like everybody else does. He’s the No. 2 quarterback. He reps with us. They rotate the quarterbacks every other play. He gets his work done. He throws the ball. So whether his number’s called or not, he’ll be ready to play as well because he reps like he’s ready to play.

Q: With the suspensions and all the injuries, there hasn’t been any quit. Why not?

A: We’ve had a lot going on, and I think getting guys ready to play is the biggest thing. You know, young guys, and even guys who have been here fighting through injury, just getting them ready to play and making sure they’re able to go out and play at a high level and focus on the ball game is the biggest thing. But, you know, I think we stay together. That’s the big thing for us is just staying together and being ready to play.

Q: Have you been impressed by that togetherness?

A: Yes. One thing that hasn’t happened is we haven’t deterred apart as the season went on. I think we’re getting closer and closer. No matter win, lose or draw, I think one thing about us is that we’re gonna stick together and that we’re gonna fight.
