Florida’s scheduled game Saturday against Northern Colorado at Florida Field was canceled Thursday because of the threat of Hurricane Irma.

“Our thoughts and prayers for safety are with all affected by Hurricane Irma,” UF coach Jim McElwain wrote on his Twitter account Saturday. The Gators are scheduled to host Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. next Saturday.

“It’s a huge jump from Game 1 to Game 3,” McElwain said Thursday. “And that’s what it’s got to be. What we’ve got to do is hunker down and give of ourselves for the people in distress and what may occur. And when this passes, get ready to play Tennessee in The Swamp next week.”
