  1. Florida needs a new offensive coordinator and someone who can not only put together a game plan that works but make adjustments during the game when that game plan does not work or is adjusted to by the opposing defensive coordinator. Nussmeier has repeatedly proven that he cannot make those adjustments during a game and even seems highly confused in ineffective during the process of attempting to do so, quickly reverting to simplistic calls that repeatedly do not work and he just continues to repeat them. Time for change at the OC staff position or likely there will be a change at the head coaching position soon enough.

  2. We don’t know if Franks or Zaire is terrible because of the O-line.

Robbie is exactly right, Tom Brady would not have been able to do anything.

It is very disheartening after all we heard about the O-line and how good they were going to be

  3. In lost-game press conference, Mac said, “I still believe in this team.” Saying that after only the first game is loser coach-speak. I have been a strong Mac fan from day 1 … until last night. His horrible product after what was supposed to be a productive summer has left me in shock, and I hope someone gets fired very, very quickly.

  4. Totally agree with you Pat.

Listen, I like Coach Mac, think he’s a nice guy and all, but we need ruthless, we need cocky and arrogant, we need fierce, and we need lunch-pail businesslike. Mac himself doesn’t have to be so much of that but his assistants and coordinators do. Our program reminds me so much of Bobby Bowden’s last three years at fsu it isn’t even funny, because Bobby lost total control of his program in those last seasons.

Nussmeier is a diasaster. I said it was a bad hire when Mac brought him in in year 1. I thought he should have been gone after last season. I was shocked he kept his job. Mac needs to find a replaces at OC for Nuss and then fire him as soon as he does imi.

    • Good points, but Nussmeier was successful at Alabama. How do you explain that? We got slaughtered on both lines. I thought Brad Davis was gonna have them mean mean mean. I hate saying this, but I really think Coach Mac should drug test every player on the roster. I think marijuana use on the team is RAMPANT. The marijuana use has them too mellow, too soft, too laid back. I think the marijuana has stripped the players of their desire and motivation. I think their desire and motivation is one half that of Michigan’s. This could be a long long long season. I HOPE AND PRAY I AM TOTALLY WRONG

  5. It’s not like we play Michigan every yerar. Having said that, it seems to me that in four games with the Wolves we haven’t learned anything in how to beat them. They have our number and until we learn from our mistakes we’re not going to beat them. When are we going to take them seriously??? And don’t tell me that the conference that can’t count straight is better than the SEC. They just want it more. that’s a terrible indictment on us.
    Maddog

  6. i’m at a total loss of words that would fail describe the utter frustration i feel when watching the Gator Offense. Mac needs to take over play calling and get rid of Nuss at once. That dude has been a failure at every coaching stop. If Mac fails t do so it will ultimately led to his demise. I do not want to end up back on the coaching carousel so I hope he learns to recognize the problem and Act before he looses support of players and fans.
Save the season, save your job fire Nuss if you fail t do so I wuld lie to remind you that “have freedom of choice but not freedom of consequence.”

  7. Pat Michigan had to suffer over a decade of mediocracy; a losing season; and a media outrage before anything changed. There was a drop in alumni donations and a fan revolt before the athletic director and Coach were fired. My point is that things should never be allowed to get that bad before a commitment is made to do whatever it takes to develop a winning culture and turn a program around. That starts with spending whatever amount of money it takes to get the best coach in the business. You just can’t expect to compete for a national championship without a great coach. It starts there; the fraud Scandal is alarming . The worst thing that Florida can do is just wait one more year and one more year for things to get better. Believe me it can get worse. I am not suggesting that things are anywhere near that; Florida is an outstanding institution committed to Excellence in all of its departments

  8. When you’re laying flat on your back, you have no where to go but up, that is this Gator football program, it has hit rock bottom. The OL is big and slow, the play calling is weak and predictable. On the up side, baseball is only 6 months away.

  9. maybe i’m a glass half full guy, but i do have a few take-aways to offer. florida will not face another defense like this for the next 10 games. this was the first game of the season, and the first start of Franks’s career. the defense was playing short-handed with a bunch of young guys, and while they did stink in the second half, some of that was a time-of-possession issue, as the offense never stayed on the field. this team has room to grow, and it will. now for the bad part. the answer at QB may be Will G, and he is not coming back. a QB with a quick release (see Will G’s one season at UF), one who can read, react, and get the ball out faster than the d-line can get to him may not be on the roster. maybe franks can develop into that, but he’s not there yet. he did make a couple nifty scrambles, but then he dropped the ball, the one thing in his performance that i actually was disappointed with. i thought he was fairly good for a freshman starter against the Michigan defense. zaire did not appear to be there at all, and he’s a senior. as pat said, del rio may be the best answer UF can come up with, and that’s something the Gator nation will have to accept for this year, because Tim Tebow is out of eligibility.

I AM TRULY TIRED OF THE HYPERBOLIC BS SUCH AS KEVIN PATRICK SAYING THE PROGRAM HAS HIT ROCK BOTTOM. ROCK BOTTOM WAS 0-10-1. THIS IS STILL THE BEST PROGRAM IN THE SEC EAST, AND THERE IS ROOM TO GROW. THRU ALL KINDS OF WEATHER WE ALL STICK TOGETHER. GROW UP, STICK BY YOUR TEAM, AND GIVE OUR NEW AD AND COACH MAC A CHANCE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS.

  10. Dress it up as u may but fla was horrible. No intensity no motivation. They were small and playing careful. No qb. Will grier should have stayed. No excuses. We looked like a good ass high school team . Play calling sucks. I was wearing in my living room calling out the plays. OC should b tired and Mac needed to b fired or demoted last year. We need a hard nose coach to rebuild the PROGRAM. Recruiting is awful. First game or not they could have put up a better effort. Im a true fan and will neva jump ship but im dam tired of the product we put on the feild year after year.

  11. I just dont understand the confidence in Nuss, it has been 3 years and its the same old thing, what angers me is when they say we got beat up physically and they say we will get better, you have had since Jan to nake sure this debacle didnt happen, that we were tougher, its your job as coaches to get them ready and it didnt happen
