Florida and Oklahoma have scheduled a home-and-home men’s basketball series for the next two seasons, the Sooners announced Tuesday.

The Sooners will host the Gators on Dec. 2 at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman this upcoming season and will make their first ever trip to Gainesville in 2021.

Oklahoma and Florida have faced off on three previous occasions, including twice in the last four years. The Gators own a 2-1 advantage in the series, while the Sooners won the most recent matchup – a 65-60 victory in the 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis.

OU’s Lon Kruger coached the Gators from 1990 to 1996, racking up a record of 104-80 and leading UF to the 1994 Final Four. The Sooners’ return game to Florida in 2021 will be Kruger’s first time back in Gainesville as an opposing head coach.

Other notable 2020-21 nonconference games for the Gators: at Florida State on Nov. 13 and vs. UConn on Dec. 6 at the O’Connell Center. The Gators are scheduled to open the season Nov. 10 vs. Samford in Gainesville.
