Florida men’s basketball’s 2020 class picked up a commitment, its second in the past week, from a top-100 prospect coming off an official visit.

Samson Ruzhentsev, a 6-foot-7 small forward out of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee, announced his commitment to the Gators on Friday. Ruzhentsev, who also holds scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Auburn and Illinois, took an official visit to UF on Sept. 27. Ranked the No. 75 overall prospect in the 2020 class by Rivals, Ruzhentsev is expected to arrive at Stanford for an official visit over the weekend.

According to 247Sports’ evaluation, Ruzhentsev is a “confident scorer with ability to put up points from all three levels. Streaky/inefficient shooter at this stage but solid mechanics. Should improve efficiency with reps/strength. Plus athlete with impressive body control. Should be a versatile defender with added strength.”

With Ruzhentsev’s pledge, the Gators hold commitments from two prospects in the 2020 class. Meanwhile, Florida’s coaching staff is hosting Montverde Academy guard Cade Cunningham on an official visit this weekend. Cunningham, ranked the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2020 class by 247Sports, has the Gators in his top-5 along with Washington, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and North Carolina.
