The Florida men’s basketball team will make its first appearance at the Barclays Center on Dec. 17, taking on Providence in the inaugural Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational.
The Gators have recently made a habit of traveling to New York City and the surrounding area for marquee games, but this will be the team’s first time competing in the Brooklyn Nets’ home arena.
The tripleheader will also include Miami vs. Temple and Iona vs. Princeton. Game times and television information will be announced later.
Tickets will go on sale Friday, July 12, on ticketmaster.com, and tickets will also be available at the Barclays Center box office Saturday, July 13, at noon. Citi card holders will have access to presale tickets on July 10-11.
Florida holds a 4-0 record all-time vs. Providence, but this marks the first meeting since Dec. 6, 2006, an 85-67 win in Gainesville.
Good exposure. Impress recruits and present a challenge to the present team, and they will win a present when the team is presented with a trophy. Go Gators!
If I can get a ticket I am going to go see this. Fun for the team, too, to play a game at an NBA arena.
I agree. Good luck with tix!
