CORAL GABLES — Former University of Florida forward Keith Stone is transferring to the University of Miami for his senior season.
The 6-foot-8 Stone, a South Florida native, expects to graduate this summer and will be eligible to play for the Hurricanes in 2019-20.
Stone averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 17 games for Florida this season before he suffered a season-ending knee injury on Jan. 19. He started 39 games in three seasons with the Gators.
Good choice. A do nothing player going to a do nothing school.
Great words. Really puts meaning to that “once a Gator, always a Gator” 😎
Does it really matter? This year’s team was a total enigma. Next year’s team is full of superstars and competent starters.
Having class should matter….but unfortunately our fanbase is just like others and only cares about the kids when they’re helping us win games.
EVERY fan base has good …. and not so good people in it. The lunatic fringe is not exclusive to Gator Nation. So you are correct that we are like other fan bases.
But not all of us think like that and many of us appreciate these talented kids and respect their decisions, even ones we might not agree with.
I know lots of great Gators….
Thank you for your contributions to the team Mr. Stone, but please know that “if you’re not a Gator, you’re Gator bait!”
