Gators land 2019 5-star SF Scottie Lewis

Florida’s 2019 class landed its second commitment in as many days, catapulting the Gators to No. 4 in the 247Sports composite ranking.

On Tuesday night, Scottie Lewis, a five-star small forward out of Ranney School in Eatontown, New Jersey, verbally committed to the Gators over Kentucky via a video posted to his Twitter account.

Lewis is ranked one of the top prospects in the 2019 class, as the 6-foot-5 prospect comes in ranked No. 11 overall in 247Sports’ composite rankings. Florida’s class began to take shape Aug. 29 with the addition of dynamic five-star point guard Tre Mann, and White and co. landed guard Alex Klatsky as a preferred walk-on two weeks later.

And power forward Omar Payne’s commitment Monday night gave Florida one of the state’s top front court prospects, and gave White a recruiting coup over rival Florida State.

With Lewis’ commitment, the Gators have four commitments, and coach Mike White appears poised to finish with the highest-ranked recruiting class in his four-year tenure.

  1. That’s one of the best commitment videos I’ve seen. Hes not only talented but seems mature with a good head on his shoulders. Can’t wait to watch this “young man” as his video states, play and make Gator Nation proud.

  2. Wow! Wow! Wow! Scottie is finally in the swamp!! We went head to head against Cslipari for a 5 – star stud and won!!!

Coach White and staff great job!!! Top 5 class. Now we need CJ Walker to complete to complete to push it to a top 3.

    This is jump the beginning!!

  3. WELCOME Scottie Lewis to the Orange & Blue Gator Family! Great to have you coming to Gainesville.

This is a phenomenal class Coach White is putting together. Omar Payne earlier this week & now Scottie Lewis. Very exciting bball news. Go Gators!

  4. Basketball is about to be Re-Dunk-uless! Haven’t seen a class this good since TJ said the Titletown days. Better get your tickets fast because we’re about to see some future NBA stars balling. It’s great to be a Florida Gator! Great job CMW!

  5. And to imagine that there were many on here last year critical of White as a coach and stating that he was not a good recruiter. They actually were saying he should be fired. LOL now. Not only can he recruit like crazy, he is an outstanding program leader and coach, including during games. I just hope Florida can hold on to him when his father, the AD at Duke, comes a calling when coach K. retires. But I hope the program does not turn into a “one and done” program. This kid is gone after one year for sure.

    • Tampa…yeah man. The folks actually calling for his firing after an elite 8 season actually inspired awe at the level of insanity some have in their critiques of programs. One guy we all knew literally made Tony Bennett be the next Coach K…not realizing we stomped them the year before and he became the 1st #1 seed to lose in the 1st round….Lol

  6. Clyde Morris – No one cares about your prediction of Mike White heading to Duke (you sound like a Duke Troll). This is about the Gators recruiting success and at this point we could care less about the Duke basketball program.

Please do not try to diminish our celebration with irrelevant info about your Blue devils. T

his is just like all those BBN fans that always comes on the gators forum to talk smack about us when they haven’t done anything with all those 5 star recruits they get every year..

It’s great to be a FLORIDA GATOR!!!!

  7. Clyde – Saying that Mike White will be Duke’s next head coach is irrelevant at this point…no one cares about your opinion until it actually matters (stop trolling you Duke fan lol).

It sounds like you’re angry that we beat your Dukies and BBN for prized recruit in Scottie Lewis!!
No true Gator fan would start talking about Duke on an all-gator forum

  8. I have been so focused on the Gator football team that I missed how we landed Omar Payne – praise God we are doing so well with basketball recruiting! Now we also have Scottie Lewis – yet another awesome recruit! Say it’s great, to be, a Florida Gator! Coach White will bring the Gators back to its glory days when we won back to back national titles – the Gators have already excelled under Coach White and with the new recruits the Gators will take it to the next level!

  9. Cj Walker put out his final 3 and UF did not make the cut. NP. Good luck to him wherever he ends up…

Would be nice if we made the cut but if you’re not with us then you’re against us.

I have a feeling he’s heading to Oregon.

But it’s all good. We’ll be stack next with most of 2018 class returning.

    Go Gators!!!
