GatorHoops: Florida basketball gets ready for Vandy

Gainesville Sun basketball writer Kevin Brockway talks with former Florida standout point guard Teddy Dupay about the state of the Florida basketball program.

  1. We are 26 games into the season and players make comments like…We just have to listen to our coaches or we need to play tough defense in every game or it is not that hard if we just execute. If these guys have to talk about doing it and it not being natural to them….season lost! Recruit some kids that want to play hard on every possession and not the ones full of themselves and have lots of excuses. Media and coaches need to rip them apart. Maybe then they will figure it out they are not entitled to anything. You have to work for it guys!

  2. As a former basketball coach watching the Gators, I found myself scratching my head often at what they were trying to do on offense and defense without a big presence in the middle. The only thing I can say for sure is that they are consistently inconsistent. So I no longer watch because my head hurts.

  3. Mikey has morphed into a lot of screen names here. None of them are interesting.

Gator B-Ball has screwed the pooch this year so hopefully young Coach White is taking the training on-board. Overall, coach and players just haven’t done a good job. Let this year play out and look for improvement in 19.
